Starman and TRON(1982)

PREVIEW

Are the icons showing up alright for you all? I had trouble with some wallpapers showing up, so I'm a little nervous. I'll be able to fix it, but it will take a little longer than normal to post.

Hehe. I love Starman. One of Karen's best films and one of the few Jeff Bridges films I know(I have seen the first Tron). Did you read how Jeff Bridges wants a sequel of Starman now? LOL. XD

Me too! Karen is so great in it. I just love her so much, and this is one of my favorites with her. :D I've watched tons of movies with Jeff Bridges lately, but these are two of my favorites. I did! I saw an interview and he was talking about Karen Allen's character and he was like questioning what happened after the movie was over. :) I know lots of people didn't like Starman, but I could so get behind a sequel, because I need more Karen Allen in my life.

Yeah, a lot of people didn't like Starman. Primarily because it was a huge departure from what John Carpenter is best known for. I think as long as Karen returns, Jeff is involved, and there's a good script, it could be done.

I'd like to see them try Starman in 3D :P

Yeah. It's a big departure from his other stuff, but I really like it. Also, some of the scenes are so pretty and it would be lovely to see them do something like this now. I don't think I would be very interested if Karen isn't involved, but otherwise, it would be interesting.

That would be cool, even though I never see stuff in 3D because of the extra cost of a ticket.

I think as long as Jeff and Karen are there, and they don't go overboard on the CGI,we'd have a winner. :)

It's about an alien who lands on Earth, takes the form of a young women's dead husband and needs to get back home. :)

yay! I'm glad you like them, and I'm glad they are showing up. :D

Starman! I love this movie with the power of a million suns.
Every time I watch classic Tron and Clu says "Do you think we can merge with this memory, bit?" near the beginning, my brain goes "I look like Scott so you do not be... little bit jumpy."

Nobody works a red baseball cap and Paul Bunyan shirt like The Bridge.

Starman is AMAZING! You should see it!

HAHA! I watched an interview with Jeff Bridges about the making of the original Tron and he was saying that he based his performance in Starman off of Clu in the original Tron! LOL!

They can CGI Jeff Bridges young again and I would be happy. (He was so hot in the original!) Wouldn't make sense anyway for the Starman to come back old.

omg rad. Got a link? :)

He actually seems like a cross between a creepy toddler and an oddly sexy ostrich for most of Starman. And a blind lumberjack. Who is also sexy.

Never mind, found it. God, Bridges is such an amazing dork. XD

My favorite part in Starman, was when he blasted though that yellow light. xDDD

:D I'm glad I'm getting a good response with the icons from that movie. I love it.

This reminds me of when Clu in Legacy had those little balls in his hand. lol. I'm a dork.

7/1/11 12:04 (UTC)
[identity profile] inthegiggleloop.livejournal.com
:P I could deal with that.

7/1/11 14:37 (UTC)
[identity profile] zeonchar.livejournal.com
Haha, yeah! I loved the contrast in Legacy how Clu's little ball things were black and round... perfect circle, and Kevin's were the jagged bit guys... lol!

Which part was that? I loved it when he melted the guy's lug wrench and then blew up the tree behind him. I mean, blowing up the tree was excessive... but awesome! :)

I actually thought he seemed like a retard at points... albeit, a dead sexy retard! I feel bad for saying that, I mean, he's an alien in a completely new body, of course he's going to act like a retard. Jeff Bridges is such an amazing actor! The way he played that role was far out. I love it when he tells Jenny, I know how the reproductive cycle works, or something like that. I turned to my boyfriend and cracked a Data joke, "fully functional and anatomically correct!"

That baseball cap and tree-chopping jacket made me cringe. Loved the look he gave Jenny when he first put on the baseball cap though. -_-

"I look like Scott so you do not be... little bit jumpy."

is my favorite line in the whole movie!!! Ahhh, love it!!!

7/1/11 14:46 (UTC)
[identity profile] zeonchar.livejournal.com
OMG, can you please make me an icon of the look Starman gives Jenny when he first puts on the red baseball cap? That creepy grin? I would love you forever!!!

[identity profile] inthegiggleloop.livejournal.com
I don't have many screencaps, so if you could find a cap, I would love to make it for you.

7/1/11 20:53 (UTC)
[identity profile] inthegiggleloop.livejournal.com
Oh, yeah! :D It's a nice contrast.

I don't think you need to feel bad for pointing out Bridges' brilliant acting. Developmental disability is only an insult if people turn it into one. I agree actually, Bridges did an amazing job conveying certain aspects of being developmentally disabled (his eyes and facial expressions especially. I loved the way he displayed positive emotions, like the apple pie! Manners are secondary during a flavor explosion!) and then being incredibly shrewd and observant at the same time. Brilliant.
